James Maciel
MY ART HISTORY GOES BACK TO 1966 WHEN I STARTED TRYING TO LEARN ART IN A SMALL COLLEGE IN NEW BEDFORD MASS. (SWAIN SCHOOL OF DESIGN). IN THE EARLY 70'S PAINTING DIDN'T MEAN MUCH TO ME UNTIL I MOVED TO NYC IN 1975 AS A VISTA VOLUNTEER. THE CITY GAVE ME THE COURAGE AND INSPIRATION TO START PAINTING AGAIN AND SHOWING MY WORK IN LOCAL GALLERIES. I AM A MEMBER OF THE MAMARONECK ARTIST GUILD. MY MAIN INTEREST IS PAINTING LANDSCAPES OR OLD STRUCTURES [ BUILDINGS /BARNS] USING SUMI INK OR WATERCOLOR ON WATERCOLOR PAPER.
